SENIOR SALES AND TECHNICAL MANAGER

At Didsbury Engineering, we are looking for a Senior Sales and Technical Manager to oversee the day to day running of the Sales and Technical teams. You will be driving targets and improving the business’s market share, output and overall business profits.
 
You will be responsible for:
 
  • Liaise with senior management colleagues regarding design and implementation of company growth strategy 
  • Drive business focus towards attracting new customers, increasing market share/penetration, whilst also defining and managing SLAs/sales targets 
  • Oversee the planning and allocation of project and sales workload to ensure weekly, monthly and annual project targets are met  
  • Assist with budget management for IT hardware and software, advising the decision maker on provision, servicing and replacement 
  • Drive relevant accurate market and product research to increase growth 
  • Line Management responsibility for the Sales and Technical departmental managers including recruitment, performance and absence management, training, disciplinary and grievance management etc.  
  • Line manager escalation point for disciplinary and grievance cases, acting as investigator, decision makers or appeal decision maker as required with the support of the Group HR Team 
  • Oversee the management of customer feedback/complaints, working with Quality and Sales colleagues to resolve issues to the satisfaction of all concerned parties.
 
The successful candidate will have proven managerial experience in a sales role, within an engineering company, ideally you will also have experience within the Aviation sector. It will be clear that you have a strong work ethic and the ability to motivate self and others within the team.
 
A key element of this role will involve continuous-improvement, so you must have the ability to highlight inefficient processes and suggest changes through the correct channels. You will also show that you have a high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise confidently with both internal and external stakeholders including customers, suppliers and regulatory bodies.
 
We will be looking for someone with an HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and previous experience working in SME.
 
This is a permanent role, Monday to Friday, working 37.5 hours per week. At Didsbury Engineering, you will also be entitled to the flexible working scheme.
