An opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Controller to join the team at Didsbury Engineering based in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
 
This is a permanent role, Monday to Friday, working 37.5 hours per week. At Didsbury Engineering, you will also be entitled to the flexible working scheme.
 
You will be responsible for:
 
  • Maintenance of the ERP System database, ensuring that contacts and prices are accurate
  • Work collaboratively with other departments such as Sales, Production and Quality to ensure that adequate quality and quantity materials are sourced in good time
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external suppliers
  • Contribution to the management of the supplier pool, including price negotiation, performance/SLA management, capacity review etc.
  • Assist colleagues with communication of requirements/complaint resolution when liaising with external suppliers
  • Process weekly/monthly stock reports whilst liaising with stores and production colleagues to ensure effective stock management
  • React quickly to changing demands and constantly re-prioritise workload
  • Assist with and report on mid and annual stock takes
 
Essential Personal Skills / Attributes:
 
  • Proven procurement experience
  • Computer literate, able to use standard office software
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
  • Professional conduct demonstrated at all times with the ability to remain calm under pressure/working to tight deadlines
  • Positive, common-sense approach to workload management and collaborative working
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Good interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication
 
Ideally you will have (or willing to undertake) CIPS qualification and come from a similar SME/Engineering Company. Previous supply chain management experience would be desirable.
