OPERATIONS MANAGER

At Didsbury Engineering, we are looking for an Operations Manager to oversee the day to day Production, Procurement and IT Teams. You will train, lead and ensure standards are met to increase the reliability, safety and performance of all manufacturing processes, effectively on time and to budget.
 
You will be responsible for:
 
  • Liaise with Senior management colleagues regarding design       and implementation of company growth strategy 
  • Oversee the planning and allocation of production workload to ensure weekly and production targets are met  
  • Establish and oversee staff training matrices, ensuring adequate skills across line managed departments, conducting regular reviews with departmental managers 
  • Oversee the budgets for production tools, IT and Software, acting as decision maker for provision, servicing and replacement as required 
  • Oversee the delivery of customer product and servicing training at Didsbury     Engineering and customer sites, including travel around the world as required 
  • Oversee management and strategy of the supply chain; ensure a quality focused, reliable supply chain is in place that meets the requirements of the business. 
  • Line Management responsibility for the Production, Packaging and Logistics,      Procurement and IT departmental managers including recruitment, performance and absence management, training, disciplinary and grievance management etc.  
  • Escalation point for internal disciplinary and grievance cases, acting as investigator, decision makers or appeal decision maker, as required, with the support of the Group HR Team
 
The successful candidate will have proven managerial experience within an engineering company, ideally you will also have experience within the Aviation sector. It will be clear that you have a strong work ethic and the ability to motivate self and others within the team.
 
You will have experience in all aspects of line management including performance management and motivation self and others. You will have a positive attitude to customer service, including both internal and external customers and a high level of interpersonal skills including excellent spoken and written communication. Ideally you will have previous experience working in SME in a customer facing, product training role.
 
This is a permanent role, Monday to Friday, working 37.5 hours per week. At Didsbury Engineering, you will also be entitled to the flexible working scheme.
