An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Fitter to join the team at Oldbury Engineering based in Horley, Surrey.
You will be responsible for mechanical fitting and assembling tasks to specified requirements in a professional and efficient manner in support of the Production Operation.
You will be responsible for:
  • Ability to work to engineering drawings, schedules and procedures within an ISO 9001 environment.
  • To correctly assemble a wide variety of mechanical, hydraulic and high-pressure gaseous equipment to specified requirements.
  • Ability to conduct production tests to established procedures, and complete accurate test reports
  • Conduct strip down of mechanical/hydraulic assemblies, identifying and recording defects and compiling accurate strip down reports for planning and costing processes.
  • Locating and diagnosing faults in equipment either returned for repair or failing to meet specified requirements.
  • Good appreciation of batch identification and traceability requirements and maintaining batch controls throughout assembly processes.
  • Conduct safe and responsible manual handling of large loads using lifting equipment
Essential Personal Skills / Attributes:
  • Previous experience working in an assembly/mechanical fitting role
  • Conducting assigned tasks in a controlled and safe manner, paying respect to colleagues and   equipment.
  • The ability to prove advanced engineering and mechanical knowledge
  • Responsible for adhering to health and safety rules and procedures
  • Present a positive attitude at all times and an adaptable approach to problems
  • Possible travel within the UK to other acquisition companies
Solid mechanical/engineering knowledge is essential in this role and in return you will have the support to develop and grow within an ever-expanding company. Benefits include 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays, free parking and pension scheme.
This is a permanent role, working 07:30am – 4:00pm, Monday to Thursday and 07:30am – 3:00pm on Friday, totalling 39 hours per week.
