We are looking for a Manual Miller to join our dedicated and highly skilled team at Redmayne Engineering based in Lymington, Hampshire. This position will suit candidates who have a passion for engineering and wants to join a forward-thinking business.
 
You will be responsible for:
 
  • Machining low quantities of precision components in stainless steel, brass and aluminium
  • Liaising with Inspection Department to ensure that products produced, are to the specifications required
  • Ability to resolve queries and problems to best of knowledge before escalating up to next level ensuring minimum occurrence of errors and provide workable solutions

  • Full knowledge of all workshop equipment

  • Responsible for adhering to Health and Safety rules and procedures
  • Conducting assigned tasks in a controlled and safe manner, paying particular respect to colleagues and equipment
  • Present a positive attitude at all times and an adaptable approach to problems
  • Possible travel within the UK to other acquisition companies
 
 
Applicants should:
 
  • Have significant workshop experience with usage of Bridgeport universal or equivalent manual mills desirable.
  • Have experience with small batch work
  • Possess working knowledge of a variety of materials including stainless steel, aluminium & exotic steels.
  • Pay meticulous attention to detail with a methodical approach to tasks
  • Be experienced in working to high quality standards
  • Knowledge and use of all machine shop equipment would be desirable
  • Good verbal and written communication skills at all levels
  • Good numerical and literacy skills
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Flexible attitude and approach to work
  • Professional conduct displayed at all times
  • Ability to adhere to tight deadlines
  • Ability to lift safe loads without assistance
  • Solid mechanical / engineering knowledge
