An opportunity has arisen for an Injection Moulding Production Supervisor to join the team at Linton Plastic Moulders based in Sudbury, Suffolk.
 
The successful candidate will manage the shift, machines and employees, ensuring the smooth running of the production process and guarantee the all products are produced to stated specifications.
 
Primary Accountabilities:
 
  • To take full responsibility of the shifts, in terms of management of staff, management of production and quality targets to ensure the smooth running of the production processes.
  • To take full responsibility of the quality and product that is produced within the shift, in line with the company’s quality systems, processes and procedures. Plan and generate job instructions in accordance with company procedures for all customer orders within QA requirements as agreed with the Production Quality Engineer. To have an active role in the company’s continuous improvement plan to achieve plans for future growth within the company.
  • Monitor, measure and report on production related process performance, general issues. Also monitoring production performances through KPI’s and using this to take corrective action. Producing reports on spend and forecast production capacity to help with planning for all areas within the business.
  • To ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during the shifts and all matters relating to this, are dealt with, using the resources within the company, in line with the companies Health and Safety policy. Ensure all legislative and regulatory requirements are complied with in all aspects of the organisation.
  • Use problem solving and trouble shooting skills to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems in hand.
  • Be able to make appropriate decisions whilst following the companies’ organisational structure.
  • Plans sequence of manufacturing, assembly and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers, preparing lists of required materials, tools and equipment. Manage the sourcing and procurement of everyday tooling and consumables for all departments, and maintenance.
  • Establish and promote team atmosphere through leadership and employee development ensuring clear communication and providing assistance and training as required. Being involved with disciplinaries and job appraisals throughout the year.
  • Liaise with other organisations in an efficient and effective manner (including customers, suppliers and subsidiary companies) as required.
  • To ensure that good housekeeping is maintained at all times.
 
Essential Requirements:
 
  • Knowledge and experience with the implementation of ISO9001-2015
  • Experience in a Production Supervisor role within the engineering industry, ideally from a plastics background.
 
Personal Skills / Attributes:
 
  • Able to oversee staff effectively and efficiently
  • Injection Moulding machine setting experience would be an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to plan and organise within strict deadlines
  • Excellent team worker, with the ability and self-discipline to work alone effectively
  • Positive approach to production support and customer service
  • Highly driven and self-motivated
  • Maintains a professional attitude, keeps calm and controlled
  • Confident working in a demanding and pressurised environment
  • Adaptable and flexible in approach to change
  • Proactive decision making and problem-solving skills

  • Mathematical Skills – ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages
 
This is a permanent role, Monday to Friday, working 40 hours per week. The salary for this role will be dependant on the successful candidates’ previous skills and experience.
