Position Title:
GROUP HR ADMINISTRATOR

Work Location:
SUDBURY, SUFFOLK

Hours of Work:
08:00 – 17:00 MONDAY TO FRIDAY
1 hour lunch break

JOB PURPOSE:

To support the Head of Group HR with all HR Administrative duties and to provide an efficient Human Resources service to the MEL Group of Companies (7 UK sites) on a temporary maternity contract, commencing in July 2014.

 

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  • Daily monitoring and resolving of Time and Attendance issues via the HR Database
  • Daily recording and processing of holiday, absence records and overtime records
  • Setting up and processing all new employees onto the electronic HR Database
  • Assisting with all Recruitment Administration, including taking interview notes
  • Printing out new starter Induction packs and delivering the HR Induction
  • Responsible for organising all Summer Intern interviews and offers letters
  • Requesting written references for new starters and ensuring completion
  • Updating employee details, ensuring the database is always accurate
  • Responsible for general HR housekeeping for the department
  • Ad hoc duties i.e. photocopying, scanning and personnel filing 
  • Responsible for accurate transcription of Audio tapes/files
  • Answering the telephone and dealing with as appropriate
  • Ordering and issuing all MEL Group company uniform
  • Proof reading HR letters for the Head of Group HR

 

PERSONAL SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES:

 

  • Meticulous attention to detail and highly confidential
  • Enjoys working in a very busy HR department
  • Possess a positive, professional 'can do' attitude
  • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Retains calmness, composure and confidence under pressure
  • Basic understanding of Time and Attendance systems
  • Pro-active and forward thinking with plenty of initiative
  • CIPD qualification / or HR Graduate is highly desirable
  • Minimum of 2 years in Administrator’s role (preferably HR related)
  • Legal secretarial skills or “touch typing” would be an advantage
