An opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Production Planner working within a small but highly skilled team at Arrowsmith Engineering. The purpose of the role is Planning job route cards, a process that takes place within a manufacturing environment and which involves making sure that sufficient raw material and other necessary items are procured and ready to create finished products according to a specified schedule.

​You will be responsible for:
  • Planning sequence of manufacturing, machining, fabrication, assembly and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers.
  • Providing costings and estimations as per company process
  • Planning and generating job instructions in accordance with company procedures for all customer orders within QA requirements
  • Liaising with other organisations in an efficient and effective manner (including customers, suppliers and subsidiary companies) as required
Applicants should:
  • Have an engineering / aerospace background
  • Possess knowledge of Machining and Fabrication processes
  • Be able to interpret engineering drawings
  • Possess excellent MS Office skills

JOB PURPOSE:

A typical large manufacturing business engaging in production planning will aim to maximise profitability whilst maintaining a satisfied customer base.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Plans sequence of manufacturing, machining, fabrication, assembly and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers.
  • Will prepare lists of required materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Mathematical Skills – Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Provide costings and estimations as per company process
  • Ensure that the organisation maintains high standards of service
  • Plan and generate job instructions in accordance with company procedures for all customer orders within QA requirements
  • Liaise with other organisations in an efficient and effective manner (including customers, suppliers and subsidiary companies) as required;
  • Ensure all legislative and regulatory requirements are complied with in all aspects of the organisation Ensure effective communication is maintained within the organisation

PERSONAL SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:
ESSENTIAL:
  • Engineering / Aerospace background
  • Knowledge of Machining and Fabrication processes
  • Able to interpret Engineering drawings
  • Excellent MS Excel, Word
  • Computer literate
DESIRABLE
  • Fully apprenticed or Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
  • Fully conversant with G,D &T
  • Familiar and experienced with MRP systems
  • Previous Estimating and procurement experience
  • Full understanding of AS9100 rev C
